Last night I bought a motherboard and processor combo off NCIX. Hopefully now my computer will work and I can play World of Warcraft and Neverwinter Nights for he month of January. Tue, Dec. 19th, 2006, 03:43 pm Yarmouth
I am going to Yarmouth on the 21st to visit James, who has recently returned from Cuba, and also to see a Wintersleep and Contrived show. Most of Wintersleep is from Yarmouth and they love to play there so it should be a great show. James also has some cuban cigars for me. Fri, Dec. 8th, 2006, 09:05 pm
No Xbox for me. The one thing that could have stopped my nearly flawless plan occurred. This is ok, as I foresaw it happening. Still, our house does now own the original Batman cartoon on DVD.
I will go play the banjo and then sleep. Thu, Dec. 7th, 2006, 07:06 pm
Today I plan to steal a PS3 or XBox 360. There is only one possible flaw in my plan, but if it fails to arise I will be playing the new Halo or Final Fantasy by 10pm tonight. Tue, Nov. 28th, 2006, 09:27 pm
Ohhh yeah. I just bought a banjo. That makes me cooler than most of you. Not that I wasn't already.
It is not as if I can say that I have been busy and have not had time to update this 'livejournal', it is more that I just do not care to update it. I haven't really done anything but read in Sackville. It's pretty good though; I am just about to go to the gym.
I went and saw a band called Cuff the Duke on saturday and they were great. They put on such a good live show and while George's wasn't that busy, everyone was excited to see them play. My flatmates have a band currently and they recently found out that they will be able to open for the Sadies after Christmas. Pretty cool huh? I can't wait to see the Sadies. Planting on the coast is finished with. It was a lot of fun and somewhat interesting. I'll be going back with the company I worked for in January or February. For now though, I will be returning to Sackville because the EI is sweet on the east coast, thanks to all the lazy maritimers. Also, because the rent is about $100 a month cheaper than in Victoria.
I arrive in Moncton on Sunday. Mon, Sep. 11th, 2006, 09:44 pm
I am not sure what to think of Bush declaring that the war on terror is a war between civilisations. Pretty ridiculous. Sun, Sep. 10th, 2006, 09:59 pm
I haven't dropped any classes at MTA yet because there is a withdrawal 'procedure' where I have to speak to the Dean of Students. Right, good thing the administration is so incompetant that it is not possible. The dean replied to my email two weeks after I sent it and then I can't get a meeting with him on the phone because the secretary was gone and the temporary replacement didn't know his number and couldn't put the call through. Bah. Got an email with "See you tomorrow with Middlemarch in hand" at the bottom. I love George Eliot. I wish I was at school.

Campbell River is sort of nice. It is by the ocean, but it seems that no one walks anywhere, only drives. The town also has only two bookstores, both used, and both filled with mainly romance novels and a tiny classics/'literature' section. There is also no music store. Oddly enough, I have seen five Dollar Stores and four Money Marts. That is sketchy. Mon, Aug. 28th, 2006, 02:40 pm
"I have no quarrel with the student of history who brings to his work a touchingly childish, innocent faith in the power of our minds and our methods to order reality; but first and foremost he must respect the incomprehensible truth, reality, and uniqueness of events. Studying history, my friend, is no joke and no irresponsible game. To study history one must know in advance that one is attempting something fundamentally impossible, yet necessary and highly important. To study history means submitting to chaos and nevertheless retaining faith in order and meaning. It is a very serious task, young man, and possibly a tragic one." --Father Jacobus from Herman Hesse's Magister Ludi: The Glass Bead Game
I am amused and pleased. Sat, Aug. 26th, 2006, 05:15 pm
I went climbing today. It was great even though i only made three climbs. Afterwards, Laura, Gotz and I went to Valhalla to check out climbing shoes. I ended up buying a new pair. They are 50% off right now and I left my shoes in New Brunswick. Climbing today and buying new shoes has allowed me to make a decision and it is that I will be living in Victoria for the winter. I don't know how it will work out, I will need to find things to occupy my time as I won't have a job or attending school. I think i will purchase a banjo so I can attempt to teach myself to play an instrument and I will probably spend a lot of time at a library at Uvic so I read a lot of history. And then there is climbing, I will be able to climb everyday.
I will collect EI. ohhh yeah. Thu, Aug. 24th, 2006, 11:09 am the plan
I now have a plane ticket from Smithers to Vancouver, that departs on monday evening. It wasn't much more expensive than the bus either. Not that I payed for it. As if I would pay to fly to Vancouver when i can hitchhike for free.
Anyway, the bad news is that I'm stuck in Smithers until monday.
Oh, and have you heard RJD2? no? Download 'Ghostwriter' by him and you'll love it. Wed, Aug. 23rd, 2006, 08:10 pm
my new email is, 'schnarb' at gee male dot com.
I think I will leave for Vancouver either tommorow or the next day. Apparently my parents don't like the idea of hitchhiking, so they might get me a plane ticket, which means I'd be delayed a few days, but also means there is less chance of being stabbed and greater chance of terrorism. Oh yeah, I quit my spraying job because it sucked. Total shit show. I worked for 18 hours and only made 340$. Then worked for 14 hours and only made $200, and barely at that. It was incredibly disorganised.
I'm in Smithers at the moment. I hitched from Chetwynd yesterday, the same day I was ripped off for $50 by a crackhead.
My planting job in Campbell River should start in a week or so so I will head down to Victoria either tommorow or the next day. I'll probably stay in PG for the night (Gavin: if you're reading this I will send you an email or phone you, if that's ok) and then move on to Vancouver.
Earlier this month I sent an email to a planting company in Australia to see if I could plant for a possible contract they may have starting in November and ending in January. I was told that if they get the contract I will have a job. Maybe I will go to Australia for the winter. Tue, Aug. 22nd, 2006, 01:01 pm gmail
Does anyone know how I can obtain a gmail account? My hotmail is constantly being raped by junk mail. Tue, Aug. 8th, 2006, 10:53 am
I leave today to go back to Chetwynd to start spraying. I really hope I am not camping in the same gravel pit that I was in for six weeks while planting. Considering Summit planted almost all of Canfor's trees in Chetwynd, and Canfor is the big mill there, it might happen.
If I can get a hold of the owner of a planting company on the coast I might be on Vancouver Island soon enough to plant some trees around Campbell River. Sat, Aug. 5th, 2006, 07:33 pm
I need a program that will allow me to download music, videos, ect. I used Ares before if died and Limewire isn't that great. I'm not a big fan of the slowness of emule, especially as I need to download something now. Any suggestions?
If you are reading this right now and do have a program on your computer to download music, you should check out Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra. Wed, Aug. 2nd, 2006, 07:32 pm
So I might be planting on Vancouver Island or spraying...somewhere in Western Canada? Doesn't matter. If I do go climbing I will probably not return to Sackville until October after the Chili Peppers concert in Montreal on Sept 2 (ohhhh yeah!).
If I don't go back to Sackville I will probably live in Victoria or Montreal until I can start planting again. Either way would be good. I don't know what I'm doing.
Ohh, and I need drugs, why don't I have any? I don't know, but it's no good. Not cool at all. It sucks not knowing anyone in Smithers. |
